Chromia is a decentralized platform that works on the scalability of Dapps. A network of relational blockchains makes up the platform. Chromaway AB, a Swedish firm, created Chromia, an open-source, public blockchain.
The Chromia blockchain is based on an earlier technology known as 'Postchain,' which was developed by Chromaway AB for enterprise clients.
Chromia also allows CHR-backed coins to be issued by DApps on its network. DApp creators on Chromia can also earn CHR, as CHR is offered as a reward to DApps that produce the most traffic. Chromia currently has many DApps in the financial, gaming, real estate, and other industries.

Chromia is a Layer-1 and Layer-2 improvement for Binance Smart Chain and Ethereum that is EVM compatible. Each blockchain in Chromia is paired with a set of validator nodes, a subset of all nodes in Chromia, similar to sharding in Ethereum. This subset of nodes uses a Byzantine Fault Tolerance (BFT) consensus technique. Chromia's network consensus is further bolstered by anchoring its transaction history to Proof-of-Work (PoW) blockchains like Bitcoin and Ethereum - once a block is anchored, it is considered definitive.
Use of native tokens in the ecosystem:
Chromia's native utility token is CHR. CHR tokens can be used within dApps, and dApps pay transaction fees to block producers who use the CHR token. Chromia allows dApps to issue CHR-backed tokens, while profit-sharing contracts let dApp investors be compensated in CHR.
