Overview
Terra is a new type of payment network which is powered by an algorithmic stable coin. The algorithm uses growth in the economy in its underlying currency to fund the discounts in transactions.
Development on Terra started in January 2018, and its mainnet was formally dispatched in April 2019. As of September 2020, it offers stable coins fixed to the U.S. dollar, South Korean won, Mongolian tugrik, and the International Monetary Fund's Special Drawing Rights crate of monetary standards — and it expects to carry out additional proposals.
Terra’s original token, Luna, helps in stabilizing the price of the protocol’s stable coins.
The mission of Terra is to make the people free from hidden fees that are embedded into every payment, which is done by stripping the inefficiencies by using the power of blockchain technologies.

Terra is working out a payment network incorporating probably the biggest eCommerce platforms in Korea and SEA, dependent on its special incentive. Terra charges transaction fees to the trade stages to cover blockchain network costs and make income. Rust programming language is the primary language used throughout the Terra Blockchain, and the blockchain itself is built upon it. Terra also supports the use of Python and JavaScript with their respective SDKs.
Staking rewards are first appropriated to validators who take a commission for giving their operations and afterward are removed separately by delegators in the Terra protocol. Compensations from stake are generally resolved by the stake’s overall size and are organized so that prizes increment as transaction volume increments. Luna proprietorship is an investment in the long run with the growth of terra. Staking rewards come from three sources: gas (process charges), taxes, and seigniorage rewards.
Use of native token: in an ecosystem
Terra uses Luna as its native token. Luna is used for mining and governance. Validators record and verify transactions on the blockchain in exchange for transaction fees, and users stake Luna to them. The more Terra is utilized, the higher Luna's value becomes.
