Illuvium makes a game that rewards players with the opportunity to explore and capture NFT creatures, known as Illuvials, in combat.
A fully decentralized protocol, Illuvium represents a new age in gaming. It has been engineered from the ground-up to increase the value of the underlying $ILV token while providing players with a AAA experience.
It was founded by Aaron Warwick and Kieran Warwick in September 2020, Illuvium is building a fully decentralized game that can best be described as the combination of an open-world RPG and an auto-battler.

Illuvium is a blockchain-based fantasy battle game set in an open environment. Illuvium is often referred to as the first AAA game on Ethereum, and it aims to provide a source of pleasure for both casual and die-hard DeFi aficionados with a variety of collecting and trading features.
The realm of Illuvium is home to animals known as Illuvials, which can be kidnapped and nursed back to health by players who defeat them in battle. They become a faithful part of the player's collection after that and can be employed in Illuvium's auto battler gameplay to fight other adventurers.

Illuvium is built on Unreal Engine 4.26. The combat takes place in a simulation written in Pure C++, which is then visualized using Unreal Engine. This enables the team to create a AAA title.
Despite the fact that Illuvium is secured by Ethereum, it is built on Immutable X (IMX), a layer-2 solution for scaling applications with NFT capability. Illuvium is built on the Ethereum network and uses the most common NFT standard, ERC-721.
Use of Native tokens in the ecosystem:
Illuvium is powered by two tokens, ILV and sILV. The sILV token is a synthetic token pegged to the price of ILV and can only be used in-game.
