Overview
GXChain, launched in September 2017, is a blockchain-based online marketplace for file storage and personal data. It verifies the users' genuine identities and allows them to store and manage their information securely. GXChain assigns each user a unique general identity (G-ID), which will enable them to interact with a variety of blockchain-based decentralized services while preserving control over their data.
Users give GXChain permission to store whatever data they desire. Since GXChain does not cache any user data, it is asymmetrically encrypted and saved on the GXChain’s sidechain. All data-key information is saved locally, and other users on the GXChain network cannot access it. The GXChain whitepaper outlines plans for a GXS to GXC token swap, which was eventually held in the fourth quarter of 2018 at a 1:1 ratio.
