Overview
EOS is an open-source system to facilitate the implementation of smart contracts and decentralised apps (dApps). Its network uses a delegated Proof-of-Stake (DPoS) consensus technique to assist secure the platform while still allowing it to run applications at a high level of performance. EOS has more scalability and transaction throughput than traditional blockchain networks thanks to DPoS, but it does so at the expense of complete decentralisation and censorship resistance.
On-chain governance is used by EOS, which allows token holders to vote on block producers (BPs) as well as numerous protocol, monetary policy, and stakeholder bylaw changes. The user bylaws are defined and enforced by the EOS User Agreement.

Technology
EOS was created with scalability in mind by Block.one. To maximise performance, EOS uses Graphene technology and (in the long run) parallel processing in addition to its delegated Proof-of-Stake (DPoS) consensus method.
EOS makes use of the WebAssembly Virtual Machine (WASM), which provides great speed and performance as well as compatibility for a wide range of programming languages, including C, C++, and Rust, allowing developers to take advantage of current optimization and debugging tools.
