Overview
Orchid is an open-source overlay network with the goal of providing private internet access. The Orchid VPN client is the company's initial product, a tool that links customers to a marketplace of service providers who sell their excess bandwidth. To activate their internet-connected gadget as an Orchid node, providers must stake Orchid tokens, OXT. A list of available bandwidth providers is kept in an Ethereum smart contract that potential users can access. For additional privacy, users can choose which providers they want to go through.

Orchid uses proof of work as its consensus mechanism.

Use of Native tokens in the ecosystem: Oxt is the native token of orchid and When nodes join the network as routing service providers, the token is staked, and it is also used as a method of payment for VPN services. Orchid also allows customers to purchase pre-funded Orchid accounts in their own native currency.
