Overview
SKALE Network is an open-source, decentralized "elastic" blockchain network designed to scale Web3 applications. SKALE chains are configurable, application-specific blockchains (often called "dynamic shards") that exist one layer above the Ethereum blockchain.
Developers can rent SKALE chains that each act as a private Ethereum-compatible smart contract platform with faster block times and the ability to process more transactions per second.
SKALE became the first project to use Activate's new Proof-of-Use framework for utility tokens, which requires sale participants who purchase tokens to actively “prove their use” of the token

Technology
Skale network grows linearly to support thousands of independent blockchains (elastic sidechains) file storage chains, and other types of sub chains – all tied to the Ethereum public mainnet and fully compatible with the entire Ethereum ecosystem.
SKALE uses the $SKL token, a hybrid use token which represents the right to work in the network as a validator, stake as a delegator, or access a share of its resources. SKALE chains can execute sub-second block times, run over 2,000 tps on every chain, and run full-state smart contracts in addition to decentralized storage, and machine learning in EVM.
Use of Native tokens in the ecosystem:
Skale [SKL] token is the native cryptocurrency of the Skale platform that complies with the ERC-777 token issuance standard. The token is required to facilitate network staking rewards, as well as for governance purposes.
