Depositing Bitcoin and Ethereum on WazirX is now faster, with reduced confirmation requirements to help funds reflect more quickly.

At WazirX, we are constantly working to make your crypto trading experience smoother, faster, and more efficient, and your feedback and suggestions play a big role in shaping these improvements.

As part of this effort, we’ve recently rolled out optimizations to crypto deposits, specifically how quickly the deposited funds appear in your WazirX account.

When you deposit crypto, the blockchain needs to verify the transaction before the funds are credited to your account. These verifications are called Confirmations.

What is a Deposit Confirmation?

When you send crypto to your WazirX account, the transaction is first processed on the blockchain.

Before the funds are credited to your account, the network needs to verify the transaction. Each verification is called a Confirmation.

Think of confirmations as security checks:

More confirmations = higher certainty that the transaction is valid

Fewer confirmations = faster access to the funds

By maintaining a balance between them, we can make deposits faster without compromising on safety.

What’s Changed at WazirX?

We have reduced the number of confirmations required for two widely used assets:

1. Bitcoin (BTC)

Confirmation requirement reduced from 4 blocks to 3 blocks

Result: The BTC deposits are now credited faster

2. Ethereum (ETH) Tokens

Confirmation requirement reduced from 30 blocks to 20 blocks

Result: Quicker access to ETH-based tokens after deposit

What Does This Mean for You?

• Shorter waiting time after making a deposit
• Faster access to the funds for trading
• No change in how you deposit – everything works the same, just quicker

In normal network conditions, fewer confirmations mean the deposits usually reflect faster, while the funds remain secure. These updates are based on network reliability and internal risk assessments to ensure safety at all times.
