Multichain allows all blockchains to inter-operate with the support of ECDSA and EdDSA encrypted chains.
The multichain network comprises SMPC nodes. They exist separately from the blockchain and can sign transactions collectively. This has to be done by a group of nodes as each node can decipher only part of the key.
Multichain’s MULTI has now replaced ANY since the rebranding of Anyswap. Multi is now used as the governance token. Only ANY can be swapped to MULTI, and this one way swap is available on three blockchains, including ETH, BSC, and FTM.

Multichain uses a cross-chain router which enables any assets to be transferred between multiple chains, even if they are native or developed using multichain’s bridge. It also uses a cross-chain bridge which is the foundation block of the multi-chain, which allows an asset from one chain to be transferred to another chain.
Use of Native tokens in the ecosystem: MULTI is the native token that was previously ANY. Only ANY can be converted to MULTI. It can be used for staking and liquidity mining
