Decentraland (MANA) allows users to create an experience and monetize content and apps in a virtual reality platform. Users acquire plots of land in this virtual environment, which can be used to navigate, develop on, and monetize.
The virtual environment was released to the public in February 2020 after a closed beta period in 2019. Users have since built a variety of interactive experiences on their LAND, including interactive games, sprawling 3D scenes, and several other interactive activities.
Decentraland is also one of many projects that make governance decisions using a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) structure.
Many Decentraland users presently monetize their LAND through leasing, advertising, and paid experiences. Other users make money by making and selling things on the Decentraland marketplace in exchange for MANA tokens.
Decentraland's "population" has roughly 800,000 registered profiles. It has a monthly active user base of about 300,000 people and 18,000 daily users.

MANA is an Ethereum-based token (ERC-20). Ethereum is protected against assaults by a substantial decentralized network of miners, who collaborate with thousands of nodes to ensure the Ethereum blockchain—and hence the MANA tokens—is secure.
The Decentraland gameworld, also known as the "Metaverse," is divided into 90,601 unique LAND parcels, represented by an ERC-721 non-fungible token. Each LAND is precisely 16m × 16m (256 square meters) and can be discovered in the Metaverse at a specific coordinate.
As it’s an ERC 20 token, the programming language used is Solidity.

The native token of decentraland is MANA. On the Decentraland marketplace, MANA tokens can be used to purchase a variety of avatars, wearables, names, and other items.
