Overview
Polymath is developing a platform that is used as a marketplace for the development of blockchain-based financial products. Using ICO (tokens) instead of the traditional initial public offering (IPO) process used in equity markets, the team wants to lower the costs of issuing securities while allowing more investors to participate in offers.
Polymath intends to launch a blockchain-based issuance system that would enable businesses to generate tokens and engage third-party service providers such as law firms and developers to conduct a token sale. Securities token offerings (STOs) will allow investors to engage and exchange their tokens on a secondary market.

Technology
Polymath is based on a set of Ethereum smart contracts that connect the platform's numerous members. ST-20 security tokens are completely compliant with the ERC-1400 standard.
Polymesh employs the Nominated Proof of Stake consensus mechanism.
Polymath.js, a JavaScript library, makes it easier to deal with smart contracts and supports document encryption and sharing.
Token Allocation
POLY is held in around 100,000 wallets, with 240,000,000 tokens distributed on the launch. POLY has a maximum supply of 1 billion units. By January 31, 2022, there will be 925,000,000 coins in circulation.
ERC20 POLY holders can upgrade their POLY to POLYX on a 1:1 ratio when the Polymesh Mainnet launches.
