Overview

TRON is a cutting-edge blockchain platform that uses an array of permissionless tools, platforms, and protocols to decentralize and democratize the content distribution business.

TRON allows developers to create and deploy extremely competent decentralized apps (DApps) for nearly any purpose, including online games, decentralized exchanges, yield farms, open lending platforms, and more, thanks to its smart contract-capable blockchain. The platform was launched in September 2017 by Justin Sun, a software entrepreneur who also runs the Tron Foundation, a non-profit that supports the creation and growth of the TRON ecosystem. It launched its mainnet in June 2018 after raising $70 million in an initial coin offering (ICO).

Technology

TRON is protected by a delegated-proof-of-stake (DPoS) consensus method that employs a network of 27 super representatives (SRs) to verify and package transactions into blocks. These Super Representatives are elected through an open election in which TRX holders vote for their preferred SRs based on their qualifications.
Owners of TRX can freeze their coins to gain Tron Power, which allows them to vote for "super representatives" who act as block creators. In exchange for confirming transactions, these block producers get TRX rewards, which are then dispersed among those who voted for them. This strategy, according to TRON, allows its blockchain to attain higher levels of throughput. The programming language Solidity is used as the foundational smart contract language for the TRON blockchain ecosystem. Like Ethereum has ERC20 tokens, TRON has TRC10, TRC20, and TRC721 tokens.

TRC10 is a technical token standard, and TRC20 is a technical standard used for smart contracts on the TRON blockchain.
TRC10 is accessible via API (application programming interface)
TRC10 has 1000 times lower transaction fees than TRC20 but has bandwidth costs for API transfers and deposits.

TRC20 token provides all-in-one function specifications and the power of a smart contract-based token ecosystem. Both the tokens like TRC 10 & 20 tokens can be considered to be Tron-native analogues to ERC-20. TRC20 is said to be nearly similar to the ERC-20 standard.

TRC 721 is a type of standard interface for issuing Non-Fungible Token (NFT) on the TRON network.
