Vite has developed a smart-contract platform based on the Directed Acyclic Graph (DAG) with a Snapshot Chain structure to enable zero-fee transactions and improve transaction speed, reliability, and security. The Snapshot Chain of Vite achieves network consensus through Hierarchical Delegated Proof of Stake ("HDPoS"), with supernodes receiving just staking rewards and no transaction fees. Vite virtual machine is compatible with EVM and uses Solidity++, an asynchronous smart contract language.
Use of Native tokens in the ecosystem: The VITE token (similar to Ethereum's gas) is used to initiate transactions and power smart contracts. VITE can also be used to cast votes for (Snapshot) block producers.
