Neiro is the sister of Doge. After Kabosu passed away, her owner, Atsuko Sato, adopted a new Shiba Inu from a stray dog shelter in Japan.

The Neiro token is fully community-owned. After the original deployer abandoned the project, community members took over and continue to manage it today. The Neiro Community Foundation holds the exclusive worldwide license to the Neiro intellectual property. The project has been acknowledged or endorsed by prominent figures, including Vitalik Buterin, Justin Sun, Binance co-founder Yi He, and Atsuko Sato.
