Eminem and Snoop Dogg Bring Bored Apes Track MTV’s Video Music Awards (VMAs)

Rap legends Eminem and Snoop Dogg will perform together on Sunday at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs), drawing inspiration from the Otherside metaverse and Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFTs. According to MTV and Yuga Labs, the rap legends will perform their song “From the D to the LBC.”

The Otherside is a joint venture between NFT investing powerhouse Animoca Brands and Yuga Labs’ BAYC. However, there is no fixed release date as it is currently in development. The Web3 metaverse game is reportedly still in “Phase 1,” meaning that only owners of its Otherdeed land NFTs and a few developers have had access to some of the game’s features.

VMA Performances and the Artists

This will be either star’s first VMA appearance in more than ten years. The last time Eminem performed at the VMAs was in 2010, when he started the program with “Not Afraid” & “Love the Way You Lie” with Rihanna. The last time Snoop Dogg and Diddy performed at the VMAs was in 2005, when they sang The Notorious BIG’s hits “Juicy” and “Warning” as a tribute.

The first time Eminem and Snoop have worked together on a song in almost 20 years is on “From the D 2 the LBC.” They last collaborated on the song “Bi— Please II” from Eminem’s 2000 album, The Marshall Mathers LP.
