Polygon introduces Web3 Functionality on Smartphones in Partnership with Nothing

A partnership between Polygon and Nothing, the maker of Phone, has been announced. The first smartphone from Nothing will feature technology from the Ethereum scaling protocol.

Although Polygon won’t be producing its own smartphones, the alliance hopes to increase awareness of crypto and NFTs by giving customers access to Web3 capability.

The phone manufacturer would airdrop non-fungible tokens (NFTs) to reward its community investors. The membership scheme, dubbed “Nothing Community Dots,” will give members access to special community content. Some extra benefits include discounts on goods, access to rare offline events, and other special benefits.

Before the virtual debut of the Nothing phone on July 12th, this is the first stage of the joint effort.

“With this launch, the Nothing brand will expand beyond consumer technology, making it one of the first in the industry to connect physical objects with the rapidly expanding Web3 arena. By allowing sustainable and secure access to Web3 applications, the aim is to make all of Nothing’s phone products and other ecosystem devices future-ready.”

Users of the Nothing Phone will have access to the network’s payments and upcoming services, including a proof-based identification solution called Polygon ID, in addition to the apps and games on the Polygon platform.

According to Polygon, the ultimate goal is to support sustainable and secure access to Web 3 apps to make all of Nothing’s phone products and other ecosystem devices “future-ready.”

Smartphones with blockchain technology have existed since 2018. In spite of the fact that the initial wave of such products from industry heavyweights like Samsung may not be a major success, participants in the sector have switched to this idea. a person likes Solana Saga.

Solana revealed the “Solana Saga,” a new Web3-powered smartphone, and a developer kit last month. The latter, known as the Solana Mobile Stack, gives Android developers the resources they need to create safe crypto wallets and Web3 applications. In a nutshell, every Solana Saga will come with Solana Mobile Stack already installed.

Despite these initiatives, since handsets like the HTC Exodus first appeared, demand for blockchain devices hasn’t really taken off. The pitch from Solana also doesn’t stray too far from the ones before it.
