In order to provide a platform for a few musical artists to expand their fan following within the Web3 community, non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace OpenSea and Warner Music Group (WMG) announced their alliance on September 29.
Through the partnership, Warner Music artists will have first access to new OpenSea goods, increased market discoverability, and dedicated and highlighted areas of the OpenSea website for prospective NFT projects. Additionally, members of the OpenSea team will provide specialist assistance to artists to help with both the growth of their Web3 fan bases and the integration of current fan communities into the NFT environment.
WMG has previously entered the Web3 market. The music label and the tech firm Genies collaborated last year to develop digital NFT wearables and avatars for WMG artists. Additionally, in order to enable artists and creators to take part in NFT swaps, WMG teamed with the digital collectibles marketplace Blockparty earlier this year.
Oana Ruxandra, chief digital officer and executive vice president of business development at WMG, also stated, “Fundamental to music’s DNA, is community – it’s artists and fans coming together to celebrate the music that they love. Our collaboration with OpenSea helps to facilitate these communities by unlocking Web3 tools and resources to build opportunities for artists to establish deeper engagement, access, and ownership.”
A collaboration between Web3 company Probably Nothing and Warner Records UK is currently creating the first music collection NFTs. This partnership, according to WMG, is the most recent in a line of initiatives to increase the music label’s experience in the Web3 market.
