Despite the sharp decrease in the crypto market, the games based on the Metaverse continue to attract interest from people who dream of discovering a virtual place where everyone can enjoy a distinctive and enjoyable experience outside the constraints of the actual world.
One of the world’s most well-known and recognizable skateboarders, Tony Hawk, revealed on July 13 his collaboration with the blockchain-based virtual space The Sandbox and Autograph to create the “largest virtual skatepark ever made.” The Sandbox has a long record of Top-tier collaborations, and this one would be the most recent.
Hawk and Autograph have already collaborated; in mid-April, the first member of the Hall of Fame skater’s class published an NFT collection that offered the opportunity to own a genuine skate deck autographed by him.
“I’ve been a fan of new technology all of my life — from the first videogames to home computers with CGI capabilities — so I’m fascinated by the metaverse,” said Hawk in a statement.
What will happen in this partnership?
- Autograph will make Tony Hawk avatar Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) based on Tony Hawk and his most famous skateboards, clothing, and accessories, including the famed skateboard he used to hit the 900 at the X Games in 1999.
- The companies claimed that Autograph’s high-fidelity avatars would be converted into 3D voxel copies with in-game capability for experiences, increasing usefulness and value for their owners. The Sandbox will make these NFTs compatible in its open Metaverse.
Collectors and famous people continue to be interested in Animoca Brand’s The Sandbox. The metaverse platform has worked with over 300 businesses and celebrities, including Paris Hilton, Snoop Dogg, Gucci, and more.
