Zilliqa, a blockchain business, has announced the release of its Web3-based Console. The console is made for crypto enthusiasts and includes first-party games from Zilliqa, a Web3 wallet, and mining tools. The main objective of the gadget is to let users play games while mining Zil tokens.

A Layer 1 blockchain protocol called Zilliqa has announced the release of a new Web3-focused video game console that will compete with Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo, but with a unique twist.

By adding a Web3 wallet and a gaming hub, Zilliqa intends to expand the number of users who sign up for their platform. The gaming center gathers games and apps related to cryptocurrency in one location. Aside from earning incentives, players may also shop and sell in the marketplace.

According to a Venture Beat report, the video game consoles will be available for pre-order in early 2023. The gaming hub, the console’s centerpiece feature, will then start its testing phase.

The objective of introducing Web3 Console

By enabling these players to generate ZIL tokens, one of the key goals will be to attract non-crypto users to the ecosystem and boost network decentralization. Users will be able to possess the native token in this way without having to buy extra hardware, allowing them to stake it and receive further incentives.

Regarding their future console and how it would compete with some of the greatest names in the gaming industry while luring non-crypto users to its ecosystem, Valentin Cobelea, head of gaming technology at Zilliqa, stated the following:

“Zilliqa’s hardware console and gaming hub will allow non-crypto natives to earn money while playing fun games without the complexity of managing the crypto they earn. We will launch the console and gaming hub early next year with two Zilliqa games, followed by more games from a variety of creators. With the backing of Zilliqa’s large crypto community and the easy-to-use infrastructure, we have no doubt that we can become the Steam equivalent for Web3 games.”
