WAX is a blockchain and protocol token created with the goal of making e-commerce transactions faster, easier, and safer. WAX built bespoke features and incentive systems to improve the blockchain's e-commerce usability and incentivize voting on guilds and proposals.
WAX has developed a set of blockchain-based tools that may be used to create dApps, marketplaces, and native non-fungible tokens (NFTs). The WAX Cloud Wallet, SSO and OAUTH, a native RNG service, and a developer site are among the technologies available to enable e-commerce operations. The resulting technology is a blockchain architecture with block times of 500 milliseconds, no user costs, and voting incentives to encourage participation in the selection of block producers and proposals.

WAX is being built using a modified version of EOS. Due to the enormous numbers of transactions for in-game items, the team feels a high-throughput blockchain using delegated proof of stake (DPoS) is required for the use case. Although EOS supports WAX DPoS and provides a framework for implementing smart contracts and transactions, it does not cover all of the WAX platform's functionalities. Customized voting processes, dispute settlement, and other features will be included in the customized blockchain.
On the OPSkins platform, WAX ERC20 tokens are currently used as a unit of exchange. These tokens will be used to connect the Ethereum blockchain to the WAX blockchain by allowing ERC721 tokens to be exchanged.
