Aion is a blockchain network that enables various chains to contribute, interact and communicate among themselves.
Aion is the native asset of the Open application network ( OAN ). It is awarded to miners and stakers for participating in the consensus of new blocks on the network. The developers generally use it to write to the network publicly.

Aion can deliver and execute its processes through three abilities.
The first ability is to “federate, " allowing users to transfer data between themselves and ethereum.
The second ability is Aion Scales; according to the white paper, “ faster transaction processing and increased data capacity to all Aion blockchains”
The third ability is the spoke system which allows users to create and develop their blockchain with unique governance, consensus mechanism, issuance and methods of participation while linking it with the main Aion chain along with other chains
Aion uses the Ethereum blockchain which uses Solidity as its programming language. Aion the OAN has upgraded its protocol to include a new consensus algorithm, called Unity, which combines the elements of proof of stake( PoS) and proof of work (PoW)
Aion is mined using hybrid DPoS and Pol consensus with a Byzantine fault tolerance.
Use of Native tokens in the ecosystem: Aion tokens are used to power cross-chain transactions in the OAN.
