Audius recently migrated to the solana blockchain from Ethereum’s POA network. Solana uses proof of stake (PoS) as well as proof of work (PoW). Solana’s programming language is Rust C and C++.
The Audius protocol has various components as follows :
Audius tokens, stable tokens and artist tokens are platform tokens that use 3 primary prongs: access, security and governance.
Content nodes :These are user operated network of nodes to host content and and permission access to content on behalf of various artists
Content ledger : It holds all the references to content hosted by content nodes
Discovery Nodes : A user operated network of nodes that index the Audius content ledger and provide an easily inter iqueryable interface that allows collecting metadata
Governance : The Audius protocol is designed in such a way that the success of the platform benefits all the users of audius who are directly responsible for the success.
Use of Native tokens in the ecosystem: Audius token is called the AUDIO, the token allows users such as fans and artists to unlock various features on the platform. Audius can also leverage the AUDIO to grow and better engage their fan base .AUDIO can also be staked , artists can access content distribution tools which would enable them to distribute their artist tokens to their fans.
