Overview
Nervos Network is a public blockchain and set of protocols that aims to address the scaling issues that traditional networks such as Bitcoin and Ethereum face. Nervos' blockchain is a layer-1 technology that facilitates smart contract development and leverages Proof-of-Work (PoW) consensus. It also includes a set of layer-2 scaling methods to make high-volume use cases easier. Users and developers can claim storage space on the Nervos blockchain in proportion to their holdings using the native token (CKByte or CKB).

Technology
Nervos is a tiered network with a generic processing and consensus layer at the bottom and various application layers on top. The first layer is the CKB mainnet, which uses Proof-of-Work (PoW) mining for security. It works in tandem with the layer-2 protocols. Nervos' layer-2 protocols conduct transactions and establish new states, while Nervos' CKB maintains the network's state (account balances and application activity) in cells.
Nervos CKB also includes a stateful Turing-complete virtual computer (VM) for supporting and processing smart contract-based applications.
Muta is a suggested framework for creating layer-2 blockchains based on Nervos. Muta chains will be based on Nervos CKB, but developers will be allowed to make their own sidechains with unique features, such as Proof-of-Stake (PoS) or Delegated Proof-of-Stake (DPoS) designs.
Lumos App Framework is a framework for creating apps. Lumos is a Nervos CKB application framework based on JavaScript/TypeScript. Its goal is to make Nervos application development easier. Lumos is still in development.
Use of Native tokens in the ecosystem:
The CKByte CKB) is the network's native token, and it can be used in the following ways:
Network-based state storage: CKB stands for cell capacity in bytes, and it grants owners access to a portion of the blockchain's entire global state.
Miners receive money in CKB tokens for both block rewards and transaction fees.
Staking incentives: CKB holders can receive staking rewards by depositing and locking their native tokens into a special contract called the NervosDAO.
