Managing Your WazirX Account Is Simpler Than Ever!

Updating your registered phone number or email address on the WazirX platform is now time-efficient and more straightforward. Gone are the days when you had to contact WazirX support and wait for the changes to happen.

We at WazirX constantly look for ways to improve the user experience on our platform. Our goal is to make our user’s investment journey smooth, quick, and secure. Keeping this in mind, the WazirX team has rolled out this Self-Service Feature for the very first time for its users. Previously, we had an alternate flow where users had to reach out to our support team via chat and get their number and/or email address changed. While that was time-consuming and resource intensive, we still followed a manual process as these details are critical for the security of an account. 

In recent times, we received multiple number/email change requests. With the increasing number of requests, the wait time for resolution also increased as every request took approximately 2-3 hours for verification and updation. Realizing the need for automation, we took this plunge. 

After a detailed study and elaborate discussions with our Engineering, Design, Security, Legal & Compliance teams, we have rolled out this feature to benefit our users.

What’s this feature about?

The “Account Management Flow” feature allows users to change their phone number and email address themselves. While this is a one-of-its-kind Self-Service Feature introduced on the WazirX platform, we have kept the security of our users in mind and taken all necessary precautions.

Did You Know: With this update, users don’t have to contact the WazirX Support team, nor submit a video declaration or wait for the changes to happen. The update is instant!

The idea behind launching this feature was to reduce users’ inconvenience when they want to change their phone number and/or email address. 

NOTE: This feature is currently available only on the Web. It’ll be available on mobile soon.

How to change your phone number and email address?

Step 1: Go to

Step 2: Click on “Account Settings.”

Step 3: From the “Account Settings,” you can click on “Account Security.”

You’ll get the option to change/update your email address and phone number. 

Step 4: In case you want to update your Mobile Number, click on “Change Mobile Number.” After that, you’ll get a dialogue box where you’ll be required to choose a reason. 

Step 5: On clicking “I want to update my Phone number,” you’ll get another dialogue box where you can click “Confirm and Proceed.”

Step 6: At this point, you’ll be required to provide your Account Password. This is necessary to ensure genuineness and avoid misuse. 

Step 7: After submitting your password, you’ll receive a 6-digit verification code on your existing phone number for 2FA.

By adding this code, you will authenticate your action, and the new phone number will provisionally get added to your account. 

Step 8: Post this, a second layer of authentication will be required. An OTP will be sent to the new number. On entering this OTP when asked, your new number will be successfully updated on WazirX.

We have cautiously added a 3-layer security check (as shown above) in this process to ensure that the user is genuine and there are no leakages. In case you cannot complete any of these steps, then you won’t be able to proceed with the request. In such cases, you can contact our support team and request the change.

NOTE: Keeping your safety in mind, once you change or update your details, we will disable all your withdrawals and P2P selling for 24 hours. This will happen irrespective of changing or updating the email addresses or mobile numbers.
