Immersve, a web3 tech innovator from New Zealand, has teamed with Mastercard to enable users to utilize Crypto straight from their web3 wallet to make digital, physical, or even metaverse transactions everywhere Mastercard is accepted.

This collaboration employs decentralized protocols to settle real-time bitcoin transactions on websites that accept Mastercard payments. Users will be able to utilize their current Web3 wallets to make direct Crypto payments without requiring collateral from a third party.

Circle’s USD Coin tokens, a US dollar-backed stablecoin, will be used to do the transactions on Mastercard’s network. Mastercard has developed various relationships throughout the years in order to remain relevant in the Crypto environment. Mastercard’s collaboration with Crypto exchange Binance to create a prepaid card in South America was one such endeavor.

Immersve CEO, Jerome Faury, shared optimism toward Crypto use cases, stating, “Collaborating with a well-known & trusted brand like Mastercard is a huge step towards mainstream adoption of Web3 wallets.”

He further added, “We love the fact that our platform supports both centralized Crypto payments and decentralized experiences to enable individuals to become the master of their money. Immersve is actually building bridges that make it possible for users to transact directly from their Crypto wallet, wherever Mastercard is accepted digitally. We want to bring the finest of Web3’s technology & values to everyday payment experiences. But we also want to give traditional guardrails, like the Mastercard network’s consumer protections, to Crypto people transacting online.”
