A community council comprised of well-known Ape holders was established by Yuga Labs, a blockchain technology firm best known for introducing the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), on Wednesday in an effort to increase its Web3 visibility.
Who are the members of the council?
The seven members of the council are Josh Ong, Sera, Laura Rod, 0xEthan, 0xWave, Negi, and Peter Fang. They are all seasoned Bored Ape proprietors and Web3 business entrepreneurs. Yuga Labs predicted that the council would evolve over time.
According to Yuga, the council wants to encourage Web3 efforts in the Bored Ape community. Commercial goods, gatherings, and humanitarian initiatives are a few potential use cases that the council could support.
According to Yuga Labs, the council members were chosen based on their prior success in building and community-led projects. The information was released following a formal IP rights access agreement between Yuga Labs and the proprietors of CryptoPunks and Meebits. The corporation had already granted access to the BAYC/MAYC IP rights to the proprietors of certain particular NFT collections. Additionally, Yuga Labs just unveiled the Otherside metaverse whitepaper and a new trailer for an upcoming project.
After-effects of the council
The council’s founding did spark some controversy in the NFT community. While some people were thrilled about the council’s proper representation of the community, others were miffed by their lack of selection despite meeting all the requirements.
