By April 30, 2021March 22nd, 20221 minute read

In lieu of Covid19 and the upsurge in the number of cases in India, the crypto community came together to support the cause. On April 24th, Polygon (Matic) co-founder, Sandeep Nailwal, came forward and started a COVID relief campaign, where he urged assistance from the global crypto community. He ensured fund transparency and regulatory compliance.

This tweet reached the global crypto leaders like ex-CTO of Coinbase, Balaji S. Srinivasan, and Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin. They came forward and donated for this cause.

Vitalik donated Rs 4.5 Crores.

Balaji said he’ll donate $50 dollars for retweeting his tweet, up to $100K~ ₹74,00,000.

India’s largest exchange, WazirX, came forward and pledged to donate ₹8 Crores towards COVID-relief causes. The donation will go to NGOs and causes working on areas that need urgent assistance like supplying oxygen cylinders, medical equipment, feeding the underprivileged, and providing medical assistance.

Even, famous Australian pacers – Pat Cummins and Brett Lee also came forth and supported this cause with a donation of $50,000 USD ~ ₹36 Lakhs and 1 Bitcoin ~ ₹40 Lakhs (at the time he donated) respectively.

We urge you to participate in this movement to fight COVID19 ?
