Our journey began on March 8, 2018, redefining how Indians engage with digital assets. From day one, WazirX has been committed to providing a secure and transparent platform, emphasizing robust Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) protocols.

In July 2018, WazirX revolutionized the trading landscape by introducing India’s first-of-its-kind trading feature, which streamlined transactions, and elevated user experiences, setting a benchmark for innovation in the industry.
November 1, 2018, marked the initiation of the #IndiaWantsCrypto campaign by our founder, Nischal Shetty, advocating for crypto adoption, and this lasted for an impactful 1000+ days.
Evolution and Growth: 2018 to 2022
Continuing our journey, WazirX has consistently embraced innovation and community building. Noteworthy milestones include the introduction of the WazirX widget, the Highest Trader Kaun campaigns, and the Rapid Listing Initiative in June 2019. In 2020, we launched the WazirX Warriors Program and actively participated in Pan-IIT trading workshops, fostering blockchain knowledge across India’s premier institutes.
Navigating Challenges and Innovating: 2021 to 2023
The year 2021 witnessed the launch of the QuickBuy feature, and a pledge to donate ₹8 Crores towards COVID-relief causes during the pandemic. The #Humansofcrypto campaign showcased the diversity and inclusivity of the crypto community. The first-ever Crypto Muhurat Trading campaign in October 2021 provided users with a unique Diwali trading experience. In 2022, WazirX collaborated with Gurukul Kangri to launch a free bilingual blockchain course and established a Blockchain Park in Goa.
In 2023, WazirX introduced features like Most Actively Traded Coin, What’s New pop-up, and Recent Searches and formed strategic partnerships with TaxNodes and GoSats.
Commitment to Regulation and User Education
WazirX actively engages with regulatory bodies, participating in collaborative sessions and offering specialized Crypto Investigation training for Law Enforcement Agencies. We are also a proud member of the Bharat Web3 Association, and to commit to the legal frameworks, we are registered with the Financial Intelligence Unit.
