Listing

A given asset is “listed” when an exchange provides trading pairs for that asset. In conventional markets, this indicates that a company’s shares (or another significant asset) are tradable on that specific stock exchange.

This denotes that the company being listed has attained a specific level of exchange trust in addition to meeting certain requirements for financial and regulatory sustainability. Therefore, the exchange indicates that the shares of the firm or asset are known to be of a minimum standard of quality via the act of listing.

When an asset is listed with a trading pair on a cryptocurrency exchange, this is equivalent to expressing trust in a project and the digital asset it is linked to. Additionally, it shows that the connected trading pair has enough liquidity to provide reliable price discovery.
